MCLS Summertime Youth Activities
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Library System serves area youth by providing all sorts of kid themed activities fashioned to fit their interests.
Teen Assistant Librarian Alyssa Fisher announced two of those events, which will be taking place this week.
“On Wednesday, we’re going to be at Duncan Falls Branch and we have an escape room. It’s called RealmQuest; Team Tome Escape, because this escape room is focused on different adventure themed books. It’s actually five different adventure themed books and there will be riddles based around each of these books that teens have to work together and see if they can solve them in order to unlock the keys to get the key to escape.”
Along with Wednesday’s event, MCLS will hold a Teen Color Run between 3 and 4 O’clock on Thursday at the John McIntire Library. It will combine running to avoid being dusted with colored powders and getting drenched with squirt gun water.
“The reason we are offering these programs for teens specifically is because it’s very important for us to have a positive connotation for the library in teens minds because they’re at that age where it might not be comfortable for them trying out new things or new spaces. And having a fun interactive program for them to attend at the library will make them more likely to visit the library, other times,” said Fisher.
Registration for this week’s events is requested and can be accomplished by visiting muskingumlibrary.org.
