Medical Marijuana Petition

Freelance Petitioner Debby Hill was set up outside on Monday by the Y-Bridge collecting signatures from local residents.

“I’ve been collecting signatures today on the new medical marijuana petition. It’s a great petition, it has been put out by the Grass Roots Group called ‘Ohioans for Medical Marijuana’, “ said Hill.

Hill said she has already been to Morgan, Fairfield, and Athens County collecting signatures. She also said they need a large amount of signatures in the next few months to make the ballot.

“I’ve collected probably four hundred signatures so far, but this petition will be out all of May, June, and possibly the first week of July depending on how good we are doing. We need three hundred and twenty-eight thousand signatures, I’m hoping that we can double that.” said Hill.

Hill will be around at the public libraries in Muskingum County over the next few months collecting signatures. In order to sign the petition, you need to be a registered voter in Ohio.
