Meet Buddy and Baker, This Week’s Pets of the Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — This week’s Pet of the Week features two puppy pals hoping to find their forever homes.

Baker and Buddy have been at the Animal Shelter Society since February. Now, they’re looking for loving families willing to give them a second chance.

“This week for pet of the week we actually have two animals featured. They were brought in in February and unfortunately, they were brought in together. They were in a mobile home left with hardly any human contact,” Animal Shelter Society Executive Director April Gibson said.

According to the shelter, the pair were only being fed and checked on occasionally. Baker is a 2-year-old pit bull and Buddy is a 6-year-old poodle mix. Baker brings the calm, while Buddy is full of energy in a small package.

Although they arrived at the shelter together, they’ll likely be adopted separately.

“They’re not going to be adopted out together I think Bakers finally happy he has his own space, his own swimming pool and getting his own care he did come in, he was born that way we believe with a cleft lip, didn’t come from any abuse situation or anything like that so they will be adopted out probably separately they just want nice families to take care of them, they don’t want deserted again,” Gibson said.

If you’d like to support the Animal Shelter Society, their Putt for Paws event is happening August 2nd, and they’re still looking for sponsors.
