Meet Calvin! This Week’s Pet of the Week
ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Pet of the Week is a big boy with an even bigger heart.
Meet Calvin! He’s a 1-year-old German Shepherd, Husky Siberian mix, who’s neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and is looking for his forever family.
Stephanie Hill, the President of the Board of Directors at the Animal Shelter Society, said sadly Calvin had to be surrendered to them because his previous owners were moving.
She said even though his story is a sad one, it hasn’t stopped Calvin’s wonderful personality from shining through.
“He’s a super friendly guy, super energetic, so he loves to get out and play and get lots of exercise,” Hill said. “He is ready to get back into hopefully what will be his forever home. He’ll do great in any family and he’ll do great with kids, but mostly probably older kids, 12 and over. Just because he is a little big and very energetic, so the little ones just kind of might get in his way.”
The Shelter is also just weeks away from their 2nd Annual Pickleball 4 Paws Tournament.
Hill says while last year they experienced rain and had to go to their backup location at the Y, it was still amazing to see the community’s support for the animals.
“So many people are enthusiastic about Pickleball right now and so it’s just fun to see so many community members come out and we’re hoping for an even bigger turn out this year,” Hill said.
