Meet Eddie G! This Week’s Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week
ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Pet of the Week has overcome a lot of obstacles in a short time
Meet Eddie G! Eddie is a 4-month-old pit-terrier mix, who’s neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and is ready for his forever home.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society, said Eddie was the first of 6 puppies that came to the Shelter with extreme cases of scabies and mange.
She said it’s been amazing to see the progress Eddie and his siblings have made over the last few months.
“[These] puppies are about 4 and a half months old, they’re good to go. If you go back on our page, our Facebook page, you can see how bad it was,” Gibson said. “Just how horrific, it’s very painful, it was very costly for our Shelter to treat them and to see them now, I’m very proud of my staff, the vet staff and the care they’ve given to these animals.”
Gibson says it’s hard to believe but the Shelter is also gearing up for the 9th Annual Yappy Hour Fundraiser. Yappy Hour will take place at the Zanesville Country Club on March 6th from 6 to 8:30PM.
Gibson also said if you’ve been looking to add a feline to your family, then now is the “purrfect” time with their Love is in the Air adoption event.
“We have over 98 cats so our Feline Special that we started a couple of weeks ago is still going until the end of February and it’s going wonderful,” Gibson said. “Any age cat that we have is $14 for the adoption and $5 for the microchip, so it’s $19 to adopt a feline. That’s fully vetted, spayed, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treatment, microchip and a nail trim, you can’t beat that.”
