Meet Mowgli, our Dog of the Week!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This weeks Dog of the Week is full of youthful puppy energy. Doug McQuaid tells us all about Mowgli. A seven-month-old shepherd terrier mix who’s eager to play and learn.

“So you know what we do with pups. We have to work with them a little bit but they end up being great dogs. Already neutered, seems to get along great with kids and other dogs, walks well on a leash, is also learning some commands. So, he’s got a package going on with him,” McQuaid said. “He could just end up being a great dog for maybe an active family that would want to go for walks on a daily basis. Like I said, with a pup, trying to house break him and so fourth it’s just time and effort, a little bit of patience, consistency, with what your doing on things that you’re trying keep, things to learn. So please, with that, just take that in consideration when always adopting maybe a younger dog. ”

The K-9 Adoption Center is currently housing a large group of dogs under their roof, so McQuaid wants to remind everyone that they are here to help you reunite with your pet.

“Never hesitate to call, stop by, look at our website. Give us a discerption, where they were lost, a phone number. It’s our mission everyday to get all dogs claimed. Naturally we always influence that a dog license is required and also helps us make it so we’re able to get your dog back to you,” McQuaid said. “And I’ve always said this, you know, naturally if an officer would pick your dog up and they know where the dog belongs and you are home, we will bring the dog back to you. And that’s our mission for the day ”
