Meet Rambo Memorial Health’s Newest Member

ZANESVILLE, OH – Rambo Memorial Health recently got a new member to their staff.

Shannon Bell, the Executive Director of Rambo, said they had been looking for a therapy dog. She decided to take a trip to the Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center today and met Wheezer.

“We looked through lots of dogs, they have lots of dogs out here that need adopted,” Bell said. “But, with a name like Wheezer, you can’t go wrong. He’s hypoallergenic and on his pen, it said Wheezer was good with kids and that helped with our choice.”

Wheezer’s job is to help make healthcare less scary for kids. He will be at Rambo’s Asthma Camp they host each year and health fairs. Bell said that Wheezer being hypoallergenic also teaches kids with allergies which animals they can have at home. She also said she followed the whole process when it comes to adopting a dog and made sure that Wheezer had his 2024 dog license.

“We did purchase our dog license also today,” Bell said. “Every time that you adopt a dog, you go through an adoption process and you get your dog license. Your dog license should be on your dog at all times.”
