Meet the K-9 Adoption Center’s Longest Resident

ZANESVILLE OH – This Week’s Dog of the Week has been looking for his forever home for almost a year now.

Meet Chomp! He’s a 6-year-old terrier mix who is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and food motivated.

Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer at the Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center, said Chomp was taken in on April 22nd, 2023; making him the longest resident of the Adoption Center.

“He actually is a gentle giant,” McQuaid said. “As you can tell, he loves affection and he would probably be able to just sit beside you and take all the joy you could give him.”

McQuaid said they are looking for volunteers to help care for the furry friends at the Adoption Center.

He also said that it is never too late to get a dog license, just in case your pet becomes lost.

“You can get a dog license at the Adoption Center or through the Auditor’s Office,” McQuaid said. “It’s the quickest, easiest way for us to be able to get your dog returned to you.”

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or adopting a furry friend like Chomp, you can head to the K-9 Adoption Center’s website.
