Deedrick’s Legacy of Service at United Way
ZANESVILLE, OH- The United Way is preparing to say goodbye to a long-time employee of the organization.
Meg Deedrick has been working for United Way for 16 years now and serves as the Executive Director for Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties.
Before Deedrick worked at United Way, she volunteered for the organization as a way to thank them for giving her the tools and resources she needed to become financially stable.
“I have been so privileged to be able to pay forward what has been invested in me, by my family, by my community, by my teachers, by previous employers and so it has just been an honor to be able to do that in service to the community and in partnership with the community, I haven’t done anything for people, I’ve done things with people, and that’s what I want my legacy to be,” Deedrick said.
Deedrick has many memories of her time with United Way, but something that she is most proud of is the way they have adapted the way that they raise money and have diversified funding sources.
“What’s gonna stay the same is I will remain a supporter of United Way, I want the new person and I’m rooting that new person on, we don’t know who that’s gonna be yet but we will soon, I’d say in the next month or so the board will be making an announcement and I really want them to make it their own, because now is a great time for change,” Deedrick said.
We thank Deedrick for all of her hard work in the community and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
