Members of Greater Zanesville Singers Retire

Two members of a Zanesville musical group took their final bow Sunday evening…
Cole Gerstner and Mary Anne Blake of the Greater Zanesville Singers announced their retirement with a final performance at Rosecrans High School Sunday evening. Gerstner has sung with the group since 1989, and has directed since 1991.
"Well, it’s a lot of, lot of good friends here, and I’m going to step down and we have another person that’s ready to go and I hope to be able to sing now," said Gerstner.
The group’s main concerts are its Christmas and spring concerts. Gerstner said the choice of music the singers perform has always been close to his heart.
"Well, our concerts are pretty standard. We have, we do a lot of sacred music, and then we’ll do a lot of fun stuff the second half. So, that’s what we do at the spring concert. This is our 19th year."
Mary Anne Blake is stepping down as piano player for the group. She has been with them for 25 years.
