Michael “Mike” L. James (May 18, 1961 – July 31, 2016)
Michael “Mike†L. James, 55 of Zanesville passed away peacefully on July 31, 2016.
Mike was a 1979 graduate of John Glenn and the MAJVS, he was proud to be the first graduating class of MAJVS to have built an entire home in the carpentry program. Mike was passionate about building and remodeling homes. The plumbing, and electricity, not so much. Mike always perked right up when his grand babies came around; he always had special treats for them. Mike will always be known affectionately as “papawâ€, to Noah, Michael, Rylee, Johnathan, Jackson, and Naomi. Mike’s sons; Jesse and Logan were his pride and joy, his Daughter in law Cassie was welcomed with open arms.
Surviving are his two brothers Andy (Sally) James, and Chad (Billie) James. His favorite “Pick on sister†Mindy (Ray) Crawford.
Mike always had his Mother Kay M. Baker in his heart, and mind. She was there for him, always. Sunday was their day to make rounds to the clubs, although they never seemed to win any money. The spent their time laughing together.
Mike was a member of the VFW Post# 105, The Fraternal order of The Eagles Lodge #302, and the American Legion Post #29.
Mike married his best friend, Teresa on October 5, 1984. They moved to Surfside Beach, SC in 1989, then back to Ohio in 1993. After the birth of their boys, Mike had several jobs with Glass companies around the area beginning with Zanesville Glass.
Mike is also survived by Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. His best buddies, William (Bill) Shirer, Bruce ( Staci) Crumbaker, Todd Drabik, Tim ( Nina) Basehart
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Gerry James, Grandparents, Mother in law, and his father in law, His brother Danny James, and his uncle Randy Bates.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday August 4, 2016 at the Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday August 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Tim Patton officiating.
