Mid-East Career Center Holds Vehicle Day
It’s never to early to start thinking about your future and the Mid-East Career Center helped area 6th graders do just that on Wednesday.
Vehicle Career Day was held for the 3rd year in a row. Over 30 different local businesses were there with company vehicles and their professionals at the ready to teach the kids about the cars and trucks. We talked to Robin McQuaid, Career Specialist at Mid-East who told us, “It gives the students a different way to explore careers and also how vehicles are used in the world of work.”
The event was part of the Career Centers ongoing program that helps insure that college and career readiness is incorporated into elementary students curriculum. McQuaid told us what the kids thought of the educational experience.
“I think the response is fabulous. It’s a great way for our area businesses to connect to the students and also for the students to connect to the community.”
300 children got a look at the shiny vehicles Wednesday. If you missed today and want to learn more about a specific career vehicle, the best means of doing so is to contact a local area professional directly.
