Mid-East Students Hold Community Outreach Event

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Two students from Mid-East Early Childhood Education held a community outreach event.
The event is for a project for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. Organizers Kendall Morris and Cassie Snack say they were inspired to help the less fortunate with job interviews and make a community impact. The event was held at the Salvation Army and featured an area for people to receive hair cuts, take home clothes, and fill out job applications.
“They’re going to come over here and they’re just trying to get jobs and what not. So they can come over here and get their clothes for the interviews, get their bags for food, and get their health checked and everything else,” said Kendall Morris.
Morris and Snack said they have forgotten about the project aspect of the event, and truly wanted to make a difference on the community.
“Just the community, giving back to it. That feeling of just having people know that there’s actually people out there that care,” said Cassie Snack.
“We kind of forget about this is actually something that we don’t have to do. Like, we want to do this for everybody. We want to be able to make them feel welcomed,” Morris added.
Kendall Morris and Cassie Snack thank all the volunteers who helped put the event together, and everyone who donated business and professional clothing.
