Middle School Students Raise Money for Animal Shelter Society, Plus Teddy Bear, Pet of the Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A group of 8th graders at Zanesville Middle School raised $150 to support the Animal Adoption Shelter Society.
Mrs. Neil’s classroom raised the money in just 3 days by selling ‘Shamrock Grams’ for $1 across the middle school.
Today the group, called the ‘Kindness Club,’ presented the Animal Shelter Society with the check.
Alex Boring, a student in the club, says that the class is a great cause for the community and helps her feel better.

“I know that sometimes my– when I come to school with a really bad attitude and I do something in the kindness club for somebody else it makes me feel a lot better. So my attitude kinda goes away a little bit,” Alex told us.
The general manager of the Animal Shelter Society, April Cohagen-Gibson, says that the donation from the students means a lot, and the class is full of students with integrity.
She also brought along Mr. Teddy Bear, this week’s pet of the week, to the class,

“This is Mr. Teddy Bear, he’s a little over 6 years old. Just a little over 45 pounds. So he’s not a really large dog, he certainly doesn’t pull when you walk him, hes very gentle. He does well with other dogs, other felines. He does well with youth, hes very excited to be here today at the Zanesville Middle School.”
April says that the best fit for Mr. Teddy Bear may be a home that has time for him because he has separation anxiety.
