Miles’ Mission to Host “A Night of Champions”

ZANESVILLE, OH – An organization bringing awareness to stillbirths and pregnancy loss is getting ready to host their annual gala.

Miles’ Mission will be hosting “A Night of Champions” on Wednesday, October 9th at 6:30PM at North Terrace Church.

Dr. Michael Bullock, the President of Miles’ Mission, said there will be speeches and talks from guest speakers Vice-President of Miles’ Mission Jennifer Bullock-Moore and 2002 OSU Football National Champion Joel Penton.

Dr. Bullock said this event is to raise more awareness around pregnancy and infant loss, while also raising funds to be able to provide resources to grieving families.

“We provide support for them in a lot of different ways,” Dr. Bullock said. “We have other organizations that will be represented there so that families will know that it’s not just Miles’ Mission, there are other organizations that provide either financial help or care packages as we call them. Bears for moms to hold or boxes that have journals, blankets, something to remember including my book that families can read and begin the journey of healing.”

Dr. Bullock also talked about a new device to help families grieve called the Cuddle Cot.

The Cuddle Cot is a bassinet with a cooling pad in the bottom so that families can spend as much time as they can with their baby.

“A child that is still born has to remain cool, the Cuddle Cot allows the child to stay in the room for the duration of the moms stay, so she gets a little bit more closure, a little bit more time with her child and it’s a mechanism that has revolutionized stillbirth grief and nurturing for moms and families,” Dr. Bullock said. “So that even grandparents, siblings can come in and spend those last 2 or 3 days with that child.”
