More developments for the National Road Business Park

21 9 16 Port Authority Meeting

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority has taken a major step towards the National Road Business Park project.

A special meeting was held for the Port Authority on Wednesday to award a contract to grade, or level, the southern 75 acres of the National Road Business Park property.

“This project is a major project for us because it’s the result of an All Ohio Future Fund Award that was given to us over a year ago. This project will create an attractive site for a potential end user that we begin to heavily market towards trying to find someone to come in, fill in the site, and maximize the space,” said Eric Reed, Executive Director of the Port Authority.

The property will also see the installation of storm water drainage to create a turnkey property for potential construction projects. This announcement marks a major milestone for the property that the Port Authority aquired in 2018 and is now the home of Marker Development’s speculative building.

“Site developments very key and important to our agency. So this is a valued effort towards creating a great site for the future,” Reed said.

The contract was awarded to The Beaver Excavating Company for over $2 million. The project will begin in March and will be completed by early Fall.
