More music available at the Muskingum County Library

Cardholders at the Muskingum County Library System can now download more music each week from the library’s website.

In the past, people have been able to download three songs a week through Freegal on the library’s website. Now, that number is five a week. This comes as the library continuously strives to improve it’s digital presence.

“Effective today, customers are able to download five songs free of charge a week, so we’re really happy to make that available,” the library’s Assistant Director, Blair Tom, said. “That’s really a well used service through our digital, virtual library, and it’s something that customers really seem to appreciate.”

Tom said getting more songs was an important step because many people utilize the service every week.

“We can see through bar codes and use that some customers visit every week and use their limit,” Tom said. “So it is something that they use on a regular, weekly basis, and so we suspect that many of them would want additional opportunities.”

The library renegotiated its contract with the music provider and was able to get the extra downloads each week at no extra cost.
