Morgan County Prisoner Escapes

The search is on in McConnelsville for a prisoner who escaped the Morgan County Jail Thursday afternoon shortly before 3 p.m.

Authorities are on the look out for 19-year-old Christopher Lee Clark.

Clark is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 155 pounds, with short brown hair and blue eyes.

He was in the Morgan County Jail on charges of theft.

According to Morgan County Sheriff Tom Jenkins, there was a malfunction with Clark’s cell door. He then ran out a side exit to an alley, tossed his jail shirt into a dumpster by the courthouse and ran toward Liberty Street.

The search has taken officers through McConnelsville and into Malta. Authorities are searching using tracking dogs and a helicopter.
