Motorcycle Safety Zooms into Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, OH – Rev up your engines and get ready to ride into the realm of road safety, as Motorcycle Ohio kick starts its newest training site at Zane State College.

Today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony officially paved the way for Ohioans eager to learn the ins and outs of motorcycle riding. Starting April 6th, learners can shift gears into motorcycle safety, with courses designed for all levels of riders.

“We have three types of courses. Zane State will be offering the Basic Riding Skills, they take a 16-hour course. You have four hours in the classroom and a total of 12 hours out on the motorcycle. We also offer Returning Rider, that’s for riders who have ridden for many years, maybe took a little bit of time off and is coming back to riding. Then, we have an experienced course for those that want to refresh their skills, or they bought that brand new bike and want to learn how to ride that in a nice, safe, environment,” Motorcycle Ohio State Coordinator, Michele Piko said.

These effective educational programs are $75 per course. This new training site not only represents an exciting new chapter for Motorcycle Ohio and Zane State College, but also reinforces the community’s commitment to reducing road incidents.

“My husband and I have ridden motorcycles for three years and we have a lot of friends who also ride motorcycles. It’s very near and dear to us. Providing this service to our community, making it safer for people, it means a lot. Here at Zane State College, we’re all about education, that’s what we do best. We feel that this fits right into the community part of community college, Zane State Academic Dean, Shelley Zimmerman said.

To sign up for the program, visit the Motorcycle Ohio Website or call their office at 1-800-83-RIDER.
