Movie Nights at Restoration Park Return for Another Summer of Fun

ZANESVILLE, OH – If you’re looking for something to help kick off your weekend plans, a movie night in the park might be the perfect thing.
Movie Nights at Restoration Park, located at 252 Muskingum Ave., have been a summer tradition since 2017 and this summer’s line up has just been announced.
Lori Wince is an organizer of the Movie Nights and says there will be one during each month of summer with fun activities for the whole family that tie into each feature film.
“We’re starting the series this summer, this Friday June 12th, we’re going to show “IF”, which is “Imaginary Friends “. It’s a movie with Ryan Reynolds and it’s about imaginary friends. We have Happy Camper Food Truck on site with hot dogs and they will be giving free popcorn away during the movie.” Wince said. “Our second movie in the series this year is July 10th and we’re showing “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, really excited about that. The Fieldhouse is going to do an obstacle course for us onsite here so we’ll have some activities like that before the movie.”
The final show in the summer series will be “Homeward Bound” on August 7th and will feature staff as well as some adoptable animals from the Animal Shelter Society, providing tips for potential pet owners.
Wince says the Movie Nights in the Park are funded solely on donations and in-kind promotions from other organizations, but the memories that are made from these nights are completely priceless.
“It’s just a way to get people out. Number 1, to this park, to this area, one of the oldest Historic Districts in Zanesville.” Wince said. “This is a park that isn’t first to mind and it’s a nice park, it’s a large area and it provides the perfect space for showing the movies, I think. It’s just a good location and it’s something we can offer families, family friendly activities, something else to do in the summer.”
If you are interested in helping to continue the tradition of Summer Movie Nights in the Park, you can donate to the Restoration Park fund through the Muskingum County Community Foundation.
