Mr. Jerry & Dr. Anita Jackson to be Recognized at Prayer Breakfast

Four local couples are being recognized at this years Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Fund Prayer Breakfast.

The prayer breakfast will not only award 27 students who excel academically in the Muskingum County area, but it will also recognize four different couples for their dedication to the community. This afternoon we spoke with Mr. Jerry and Dr. Anita Jackson, who are pleased to be honored at this years prayer breakfast.

“Very humbling and just certainly a pleasant surprised that we’re being honored. I think what’s so special about this honor, is that even though we received a number of awards throughout the years, we’re being recognized together.”

The two will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this year and Dr. Anita Jackson says they’re proud to be able to call the city of Zanesville their home for so many years.

“There’s a lot of rich history here, and i just that that history should be promoted, and also there’s a lot of talent here. Musical talent, art, of course I love the arts, so music, dance, painting, drawing, sculpturing, plays, the theaters.”

The Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast will be held Monday, January 19 at 9 A.M. At the North Terrace Church of Christ.
