Muskingum Co. Commissioners Discuss Public Awareness and Funds
The Muskingum County Commissioners gathered today to discuss upcoming events and speak with a representative from Sherrod Brown’s office.
Public Safety Awareness day will take place October 17th at Secrest Auditiorium. The public and Muskingum County Commissioners will be there to award the top firefighter, EMT and peace officer in each of the surrounding counties.
“Nominations are being done from within the departments themselves. Local FOP will be making selections for the peace officers and the Firefighters Association will be doing the firefighters and EMTs of the year. So it is truly an honor to be nominated and to be awarded this from the people that work with them everyday,”says Ann Combs the Marketing Director at Secrest Auditorium.
Tickets are $15 a person and can be purchased at Secrest Auditorium.
Jeanie Wilson, a representative from Senator Sherrod Brown’s office spoke with the commissioners about local projects that need funding. Commissioner Bates says a main concern for Muskingum County is the Maysville sewer project. Bates says he would like Senator Brown to try to secure another $1.5 million for the project.
Commissioner Bates also says the funds Senator Brown has previously secured for Muskingum County has helped to bring jobs back to the area.
