Muskingum County Commissioner Candidate talks about Tuesday’s Win

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Primary Election has come and gone, but some excitement still remains.

In the Republican race for Muskingum County Commissioner, Drake Prouty defeated Tony Coury and Gene Tahyi. Prouty had 5,403 votes while Coury received 2,034 votes and Tahyi 895.

Prouty said his election night was a night full of joy and that hard work was a factor in his win.

“That’s been my motto with my campaign,” Prouty said. “I’ve had a great team around me with a lot of support in the community that’s really shown from day 1 of my announcement.”

He said he can feel the support from the community heading into the November election.

Prouty also talked about what he’s looking forward to in the coming months.

“I want to stay focused on the election first, and foremost,” Prouty said. “Then get the priorities to hopefully take over the Commissioners seat in January.”

Prouty will face Democrat John Furek in November.
