Muskingum County Community Foundation Accepting Scholarship Applications

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – There are currently 35 scholarships, based at the Muskingum County Community Foundation, available for students to apply for.
Different requirements are needed for the scholarships. A list is available to students at the Scholarship Central’s website where they can see what scholarships they are eligible for. The scholarship options are open to a variety of students, such as high school students, college students, and even those in career training.
“We do actually have some scholarships that are now available for adult learners who are going to like the Mideast Adult Center or any type of career training. So there are those types of scholarships on there as well the traditional ones. So that’s something new for this year, something that we’re rolling out. Hopefully we’ll be able to get some interest in,” said Manager of Educational Programs, Katie McCarty.
There is over $120,000 in scholarship funds to be awarded. Students will be able to use the money towards their tuition, books, room and board, or more.
“The big thing with these scholarships is it’s free money. All they have to do is spend a little bit of time filling out an application. And they could get 500, $1000, $1500 dollars, depending on the scholarship. And it’s theirs to do whatever they need with it,” McCarty said.
For a complete description of each scholarship application and their fund, you can visit scholarshipcentral.org. Scholarship applications are due on Wednesday, March 20th.
