MCCF Launches Summer Scholarship Cycle

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Community Foundation is gearing up for their Summer Scholarship cycle.

The Spring Scholarship cycle recently concluded and Christy Rahrig, the Donor Services and Media Relations Manager, says they gave away over $150,000 alone during this cycle.

She says this couldn’t have been possible without their generous donors and sponsors.

“We are really excited to have such generous donors that believe in our students here in Muskingum County and want to help them fulfill their dreams of pursuing higher education.” Rahrig said. “That’s a pretty high number, I don’t really know what the average is but I feel like it was higher this year than it has been in recent years and we also have some new scholarships that we awarded for the first time this year so that probably played into how much we awarded,”

The Summer Scholarship cycle is still open, but only for a few more weeks.

Rahrig says there are scholarship opportunities for newly graduated students as well as current college students.

She says if you’re new to applying or haven’t applied in a while for a scholarship, there are a few changes this year.

“We do have a new application program,” Rahrig said. “You just have to go to our website, click apply, and it’ll take you to our new software program so you can fill out all of your information and apply for whatever you are eligible for.”
