Muskingum County Fairgrounds Farmers Market-Jose Madrid Salsa

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Fairgrounds farmers market features a wide variety of vendors to the community.

One vendor you can find at the market is Jose Madrid Salsa. Jose Madrid Salsa started in Zanesville and continues to serve the area. They have more than 28 salsas to choose from, encouraging customers to use their salsa to enhance dishes. You can choose from mild and medium flavors to hot salsas. 

“It was one of the brothers of Zak’s Restaurant that started the salsa, and that’s Mike. And it became so popular that he branched out and started doing salsa independently. It’s developed to approximately 28 different types of salsas that we do, some are seasonal, and some we are doing all year round,” said Tom Hayes of Jose Madrid Salsa.

Jose Madrid Salsa can be found at other places such as Winerak and Adornetto’s. Hayes also said the farmers market gives people the opportunity to taste the salsa and view their options. 

“Farmers market gives people a chance to sample the salsa, see the product, taste the product. And see a little bit more of a diverse line of what’s at the stores that do carry us,” he said.
