Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Bugle!

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Dog of the Week can’t toot a horn but he could be your best friend!
Meet Bugle! He’s a 2-year-old beagle mix who’s neutered, keeps a clean kennel, and is eagerly sniffing out his forever home.
Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center, says Bugle came to them with 2 other beagles that were most likely dumped out in the country.
“[He’s] A little shy at first when you first meet him, but as you can tell warms up very quickly.” McQuaid said. “Seems to be very sweet, is definitely a fan of all the staff and volunteers here.”
McQuaid also wanted to remind the community that with the warmer weather, ticks and other insects are out and making their presence known.
He says it’s best to check your pup and yourself before coming back into your house after a walk in the great outdoors.
“Now with the warmer weather coming about, we’ve got summer at us. We’re often walking our dogs, taking them to dog parks, and walking in the woods.” McQuaid said. “So please before you bring them in the house or put them in your car, you check yourself and your pup for any ticks that might be attached to your skin. The easiest way to remove or take them away is to use a pair of tweezers, you want to get to the base of the tick, right next to the skin, and pull it straight out.”
