Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Charles Lickens!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This week’s dog of the week is as friendly as he is fluffy. Meet Charles Lickens, or Mr. Lickens, as he is often called. Mr. Lickens is a 5-year-old male Husky mix who keeps a clean kennel and doesn’t know a stranger.
Muskingum County Sheriff’s K-9 Adoption Center volunteer Doug McQuaid says he’d be a great fit for anyone willing to take on the brushing and grooming required when caring for a Husky.
“He would just be someone for an active family. He’s young enough to where, you know, he would need to go for daily walks and so forth. So, I feel like he’d be a great companion, you know, any age groups, as far as kids and adults as well,” McQuaid said.
Merle Norman Cosmetics is still running their fundraiser for the adoption center through the rest of the month, where 10% of all sales go towards the Griff Fund for vetrinary emergencies. T-shirts are also available at Merle Norman for $5 a piece. McQuaid also highlights a chance to see some of the volunteers from the adoption center at an event next week.
“Wednesday, April 29, from 10 to 2, our staff will be at the fairgrounds for the Blue Ribbon 50 (Plus) Expo. They’ll be there with dogs, be there with answering any questions that you may have. You’re gladly welcome to interact with the dogs that we have on site, maybe even talk about even adopting one if you want. You know, something you can talk to them about,” McQuaid said.
