Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Godiva!

ZANESVIELL, Ohio – This week’s dog of the week is as sweet as candy and ready for a new home. Meet Godiva!
She’s a 5-month-old Aussie-mix who came to the Muskingum County Sheriff’s K-9 Adoption Center as a stray. Volunteer Doug McQuaid says she can be shy but will come out of her shell to be a loving family member.
“Naturally, with her being all pup, there’s a lot of things that takes a lot of time and effort ot work with the pup as well. You know your routine, get her to do different things around your schedule and so forth. A little time and effort, you can concour a lot,” McQuaid said. “She seems very shy at first but seems to warm right up to you. Loves affection, takes treats very well, actually walks well on a leash so it would be just a dog that, with a little time and effort, you can make her into a household pet that’d just be fabulous for your whole family.”
McQuaid also wanted to thank the community for the support they showed during their annual April fundraiser, Smooches for Pooches.
“We just want to thank Merle Norman Cosmetics for the Smooches for Pooches event that they had hear in the month of April. We want to thank our generous community for stopping by and help support them as well,” McQuaid said. “They were able to [give] 10% of all sales through their store and with the support of the community, they were able to give us a very large donation towards the Griff Medical Fund.”
The Girff Medical Fund helps pay for veterinary costs in extreme cases that go beyond the typical medical needs covered in the adoption center’s budget. You can learn about how to adopt a dog like Godiva by calling (740) 453-0273 or visiting the Muskingum County Sheriff’s K-9 Adoption Center.
