Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Sally!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This week’s dog of the week is on a weight loss journey and is already 14 pounds down!
Meet Sally! She’s a 6-year-old terrier who is spayed, house-trained and gentle. She can be shy at first but according to K-9 Adoption Center volunteer Doug McQuaid, she warms up pretty quickly.
“She’d probably do best with older children in the home. She’s on a journey to lose some weight. She’s already lost 14 pounds, so we’re very, very happy with that. So maybe someone that would adopt her would take that consideration. She would need to go for daily walks. So like I said, I just feel like she’s looking for her forever home…,” McQuaid said.
McQuaid would also like the community to know that while gas and consumer prices are on the rise, they offer a resource for anyone who needs help keeping their pup fed.
“A lot of people are going through some hard times and having a hard time even just feeding their family. We have a food bank. If you have a dog license, it’s required. You can actually stop by and pick up food,” McQuaid said. “We never want any dog to be left behind. So if that’s something that you’re interested in, we’re open six days a week, every day but Monday. So feel free to stop by and we’ll gladly get you taken care of. ”
