Muskingum County Library System Installing New Product

The Muskingum County Library System is making it easier for it’s customers.

Library users will now be able to use their credit card when paying for printing and other library services and fees. Previously the library was only able to accept cash or check. Assistant Director of the Library System, Blair Tom, told us how it works.

"The library system has installed a product from comprise which is a vendor that works through municipal agencies throughout the country and it allows customers to pay for library services, fees, such as copying, printing from computers, overdue fees and so forth, with a credit card as well as deposit funds on their library card account, for their convenience have it available to use."

The library system has been working on this new method of payment for about 3 years now and the public has shown interest in it. Tom said overall the feedback so far has been positive.

"We’re getting really positive feedback from customers. They find it very easy to use independently. We’re happy to train and assist customers, but we’re finding that most of them just go up and hit the touch screen and work through their transaction."

There is one system up and running at the John McIntire Library in Zanesville. The products will be installed at other county branches the week of May 18th. Tom said they will all be operational on Friday, May 22nd if all goes smoothly.
