Muskingum County’s Help Wanted: AMG Vanadium

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – AMG Vanadium is the global leader and the nation’s only company that specializes in the management and recycling of spent catalyst.
“…which is actually a waste product of generated by global refineries. Vanadium’s considered to be a micro-alloy so it goes into the production of steel and can help strengthen it between, like, 20% and 40%. And through our process, we’re actually able to reclaim 99% of the waste that comes into the facility and turn it into a sellable product,” said Meredith Cumbow, vice president of HR.
Cumbow explains that being in a unique industry has led to a unique working environment with several open positions with room to grow.
“No one really does what we do and so I think it’s a really exciting opportunity,” Cumbow said. “One for someone to break into manufacturing but also to work with a company that values safety, values employees’ growth opportunities and really will commit to long-term career paths for them.”
The company has positions open at both its Zanesville and Cambridge locations. Those positions include operations supervisor, melt shop process lead, maintenance technician, and produciton team members
“…and we’re looking for individuals that have a high school diploma, GED, a strong mechanical aptitude, and obviously, previous manufacturing experience would be helpful, but it’s not a requirement,” said Cumbow.
According to Cumbow, you can expect a minimum of $21 per hour with training opportunities to increase their skill knowledge that would also increase their pay. AMG Vanadium also has a comprehensive list of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. The company also offers a 401 (k) plan with company matching and wellness programs.
