ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum Recreation Center is turning two.
March 31st marks the 2nd anniversary for the recreation center. To celebrate, the rec is offers color contests for children of members and non members and many other cool incentives.
“We have different age groups 1 to 3, 4 to 7, and 8 to 12. People can stop in get the pages to color and back it in by the 23rd of March then we will vote on the winners. There will be prizes awarded for that. On April 2nd we have a community day. Where people can come in and utilize the facility for free that day. We’re opening it up to the community to showcase what we have to offer and people to come in and try the facility out,” Recreation Center Executive Director Beth Chapman.
Chapman said within 2 years the rec was able to bring economic growth, provide life saving skills, and provide the community with a state of the art facility.
“We started out the first 2 years just doing things in increments. Adding more programs. Llistening to what community said that they wanted. So now we’re just continuing to build on that. Something new for this year that we are doing is a sprint triathlon. We just want to continue to do what we can do and do it well,” said Chapman.
The Muskingum Recreation Center is located on 1425 Newark Road.
