Muskingum Students At Christ’s Table For MLK Day of Service
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Students from Muskingum University honored Martin Luther King Jr. by donating their time for community service.
More than one hundred students were split into groups to support different area agencies and non profit organizations. One organization included was Christ’s Table. The students were helping make meals, and giving out the meals to the people in need.
“It feels really good, considering I’m only a Freshman, I haven’t really gone out into the community a lot. So this kind of gives me another chance to spread out and see what other people are living like. Cause I’m not from around here, so it’s pretty nice to help out,” Muskingum University student, Connor Fritz.
The MLK Day of Service has a mission to empower individuals and strengthen communities. Today gives everyone the opportunity to engage in community action.
“It’s great because obviously Martin Luther King stood for a lot of things. And it’s nice to get back into the community, and give out. And show how much we care about the community. It’s always nice to give,” Fritz added.
Along with Christ’s Table, students served organizations such as the United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties and the Animal Shelter Society.
