Muskingum University ranked best value in Ohio

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – A university in New Concord has been ranked Ohio’s best value school according to U.S. News & World Report.
Muskingum University was determined to be the best value based on quality and cost after accounting for total expenses and financial aid. After financial aid is factored in, the private university is on par with Ohio’s four-year public institutions.
“We are so delighted to have this ranking for three years in a row now. Muskingum has been ranked the number one institution in best value and that really represents an enormous amount of work on the part of our entire faculty and staff and our students and it also represents our values of affordability and excellence,” Muskingum University President Susan Hasseler said.
Muskingum University is also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as Ohio’s second best in social mobility which is based on graduation rates of students from lower income homes who receive Pell Grants.
“They’re prepared to go out into the work force to contribute, to lead in their communities and so we built a number of things in to make that happen including our Impact Center in which we work with every student on having experiences that help prepare them. Also being able to showcase what they’ve learned, connect with employers, build great relationships that our students can go out and really use their gifts well,” Hasseler said.
Muskingum university is also ranked 7th for best value and 13th in social mobility in the broader Regional Midwest.
