Muskingum University Shooting

NEW CONCORD, Ohio- Sheriff Matt Lutz says at 7:03 pm there was a 911 call reporting shots fired at Mose Moorehead Baseball Field at Muskingum University.
One victim, a player from the visiting Olivet College baseball team was shot multiple times following the game.

Emergency personnel were immediately contacted. The victim was transported by squad to an area hospital.

Muskingum University PD, New Concord PD and the Muskingum County’s Sheriff’s Office began investigating and searching for a suspect based upon witness descriptions.

At 7:45pm a suspect was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing and we will bring you more information as it becomes available.
