Muskingum University Welcomes Class of 2013
One local university is welcoming the class of 2013 a little differently this year with a name change, and it was made official at the university’s Charter Convocation this morning.
“The Chairman on our Board of Trustees, Harold Burlingame, was here to officially create us as Muskingum University, ” says Muskingum University President Anne Steele.
The class of 2013 will be the first to go through four years at Muskingum University instead of Muskingum College.
Steele says everyone is excited about the change and a new start to the year.
“We welcomed about over 525 new students here today, and they are a terrific group of students. So, it brings great energy to the campus, ” says Steele.
Steele says it will not change students’ experiences or academics on campus. She says the name change will show Muskingum University’s place in the national academy of higher education.
