Muskingum Valley Council Holds Family Fun Fest

The community gathered for the Fourth of July Family Fun Fest at the Boy Scout Service Center Saturday.

The property is open to the public each year for fireworks viewing. This year, some new and exciting events were added for area families to enjoy. Executive Director, Ed Mulholland told us more.

“We’ve got a shooting gallery, we have an archery range, face painting, we’re giving away free cotton candy and hot dogs and drinks.”

Music, fire dancing by Pyrotechnica and a formal flag retirement were also more of many things that people could experience during the evening. The night ended with a nice view of the fireworks. Mulholland explained what it took to put the event on.

“Well we’ve got forty or fifty different volunteers that are giving up their Fourth of July to be out here.” Said Mulholland, “A lot of different organizations, the Roguey Foundation, Comfort Inn as I said, Pepsi. Very supportive.”

Did we mention the event was completely free? Mulholland said they put it on as a thank you to the community for all of their support during the year.
