Muskingum Valley Park District Meeting With Muskingum County Commissioners

ZANESVILLE, OHIO- Supporters of the Muskingum Valley Park District met with the Muskingum County Commissioners early on Monday to discuss concerns with the park district.

Supporters came to talk about the park district, the ability to secure some additional funding, and most importantly, to appoint a new park director and new board members.

Al Iacovone, Consultant for the Muskingum Valley Park District said that they desperately are searching for a new director and is looking for the commissioners help.

Iacovone said that the park district owns 11 different areas, which total to over 500 acres of land.   He also said that parks mission is to conserve natural areas and provide recreational opportunities for the community.

“The prime focus of the meeting was pointing out the importance of recreations and parks in a community,” said Iacovone.  “To retract and retain young families amongst others and make the community a better place to live and work in.”

The next step will be a meeting between both the county commissioners and the park district board members to discuss different outlets on appointing a new director and other board members.
