MVHC Continues to Grow

Muskingum Valley Health Centers is continuing to find new ways to enhance its level of patient care.

Within the last year, MVHC expanded its coverage to Cambridge, opened a pharmacy at its Muskingum County location, and was one of four health centers in Ohio selected to pilot a new pregnancy program. Chief Quality Officer for MVHC, Jeanie Blake, visited Zanesville Noon Rotary Club’s weekly meeting Tuesday to talk more in depth about MVHC’s mission, as a federally qualified health center.

“We’re a primary care provider and our mission is to serve under-served, which means anybody who does not have access to primary care, so we don’t discriminate on ability to pay, we do offer tiered services or levels of pay for those people who do have low incomes,” Blake said.

As a federally qualified health center, MVHC provides adult care, pediatric care, women’s health, dental care, and behavioral health at each of its four locations. Blake says MVHC is continuing to grow, and now serves nearly 29,000 patients.

“It’s very rewarding to be able to be apart of this mission, because we offer primary care to people who perhaps would not be able to access that, so everyday when I walk in I just feel a sense of gratitude, in being apart of something that’s so valuable to the community,” Blake said.

MVHC has locations in Zanesville, Malta, Coshocton, and Cambridge.
