ZANESVILLE, OH – A local health center is receiving national recognition for the care it provides right here at home. Muskingum Valley Health Centers has earned Gold Status for quality care.

The recognition comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration. To earn Gold Status, a health center must rank in the top 10% nationwide for overall clinical quality measures.

“This is an incredible honor for us to be a Gold Status health center. Essentially, it means that our quality outcomes were in the top 10% of all health centers in the nation. There are roughly 14,000 health centers across the U.S. so that means we’re in the top 140 health centers in the country. It’s really an incredible honor and a reflection of the amazing work our staff do day in and day out for our patients.” Dan Atkinson, the CEO of MVHC, said.

And that’s not the only recognition MVHC received. The organization was also named a National Quality Leader in Behavioral Health and Diabetes Health.

“Behavioral Health and Diabetes Care we were considered National Quality Leader and that is based on us achieving certain metrics with quality indicators around those specific disease states. By achieving that, it really illustrates to the community and to the health centers across the country that we’re providing a really high level of care around those specific diseases.” Atkinson said.

MVHC operates 13 locations across Coshocton, Guernsey, Morgan, and Muskingum Counties. More information about its locations and services can be found on the MVHC website.
