MVHC: Players of the Game – Week Five

ZANESVILLE, OH – Halfway through the high school football season, and we continue to see impressive performances from teams and players alike, as we venture into the back half of the season. The following three athletes made their impacts felt on Friday night as our latest “MVHC: Players of the Game”.

The crew from Z92 radio broadcasted a matchup between 3-1 teams in week five, though West Muskingum made its presence felt, jumping out to a big first half lead and never looking back. Now fully healthy and ready to roll the rest of the way, junior quarterback Noah Morrison was responsible for three first half touchdowns, as the Tornadoes finished off the Electrics, 42-21.

For the second consecutive season, New Lexington is unbeaten through the first half of the regular season. A standout performer this year and last, Terrelle King made his impact felt with five tackles for loss on the defensive end in a dominant week five win over Coshocton, a game which was broadcasted live on Highway 103 radio.

Zanesville continued its alternating wins and losses record this season with a week five victory at Utica. AM 1240 selected senior lineman Damarcus Goins as its player of the game, helping pave the way for the 200-plus yard rushing attack for the Blue Devils in the victory. Goins has been the top offensive lineman this season for his team, as he looks to continue his playing career at the collegiate level.
