MVHC: Players of the Game – Week Four

ZANESVILLE, OH – It is always something new in the world of high school football, and it is never a dull moment, or week. Week four certainly proved that this year, and we saw tremendous action throughout the local area, and the following three players showed out in their own right as our “MVHC: Players of the Game” for week four.

Our game from Z92 was maybe the game of the year, except without the maybe. Philo upended Tri-Valley in a game that went beyond the final whistle. With one untimed down and the Electrics down by four, Rusty Trout was in the right place, at the right time, and caught a pass in the corner of the end zone to upset the Dawgs in dramatic fashion.

West Muskingum won its third game in four weeks on Friday night, and the crew from Highway 103 selected Hayden Wakefield as the player of the game. The senior caught two touchdown passes, had a ‘pick six’ on the defensive end, and had several pass break ups in West M’s rout of Morgan.

It was a tough matchup for Zanesville this week against unbeaten Garaway, and despite the loss, AM 1240 named Khris Murdock as the player of the game from the Blue Devils, after his four tackles and forced fumble against the Pirates.
