MVL Rolls to Fourth Straight All-Star Win over LCL
PATASKALA, OH
You can now officially call it a “four-peat”.
The all-stars out of the MVL wasted no time getting out of the gates red hot before downing the LCL, 34-15, to claim it’s fourth straight all-star came win over it’s neighboring county foes in a testy affair on Friday night.
Even before Muskingum County’s best ran up the score early in the game, soon to be former Tri-Valley head coach Cameron West offered his thoughts ahead of his final game in charge as a head coach on the importance of the game at hand.
“Just for the fans, seeing the best players at your school play one more time” said West. “A lot of our kids it’s the last time they’re going to suit up and play. Just seeing football in June. You don’t have to wait until August, that’s the kind of early kick off.”
From that early kick off, the boys in blue wasted no time jumping on the scoreboard with a one-yard touchdown rush from Tri-Valley running back Jayden Wallace on the MVL’s first possession.
Soon after that, the first half turned into the Bentley Hanson highlight reel.
In his final game on the field, the New Lexington alum reeled in a 25-yard dart from his long time friend and teammate Isaiah Stephens, but what happened soon after has to be seen to believed.
Halfway through the second, Stephens launched one towards the end zone, just knowing that number ten would be somewhere in the end zone, and a head over heels catch send the MVL faithful, and everyone watching, into absolute hysteria.
A 20-0 halftime lead was more than enough for the MVL en route to the victory, cappedo off by scores from old Tri-Valley star Kade Hindel and a second touchdown from Wallace in the second half.
Unsurprisingly, Hanson was named the MVL’s most valuable player in the game, while the LCL selected Heath alum Connor Corbett, who had one of the two touchdowns in the game for the young men in red.
