Neuterama to take place in July

The Animal Shelter in Muskingum County will be performing approximately 60 surgeries on July 2.

Male cats will be neutered in attempts to cut down on the homeless feline population in the local area. Executive Director Jody Murray said there’s been a positive response in the community and he hopes the efforts improve the situation.

“We’re going to start early in the morning and basically our veterinarian here is going to be doing surgeries all day so we’re hoping that that helps a little bit in the over population,” said Murray. “There’s been such a response for this we’re probably going to try to schedule another one in maybe six months or so, maybe try to do a couple a year. ”

And as always, the Animal Shelter is looking for a forever home for another pet in need. Pretty girl is three years old and gets along well with other cats and dogs.

Murray said she’s ready to complete a family, as she has been at the shelter for several months. Her adoption fee is just $30.00. For more information about adopting or neutering you can call the shelter.
