New Concord Man Sentenced On Sex Charges

A New Concord man is sentenced to prison on sex charges. 66-year-old John Scheid Junior appeared before Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill on one charge of rape and one charge of gross sexual imposition. Judge Cottrill sentenced Scheid to 15 years in prison and classified him as Tier III sex offender which means he must register every 90 days for life. According to court records the rape occurred between February of 2009 and 2010, and the gross sexual imposition occurred between February and July of 2010.
