New Indian Restaurant comes to Downtown

ZANESVILLE, OH – A new Indian restaurant just opened up in downtown Zanesville.

Amar India Restaurant celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday. It’s owned and operated by Prabhjot Sekhon & Mandeep Singh.

Sekhon said her and her husband have always been passionate about food which is what drove them to open their own restaurant.

“My husband used to work at an Indian restaurant for almost 10 years,” Sekhon said. “We were just always passionate and we wanted to start something. We started from our food truck and we wanted to expand our business into a restaurant.”

She said this has been their dream and talked about the reason why they chose Zanesville.

“We always had this dream about opening a restaurant,” Sekhon said. “We chose this location in Zanesville because there’s no other Indian restaurant and there’s a demand here.”

Amar India Restaurant is located at 32 S. 3rd St.

They are open Mondays through Saturdays from 11AM to 10PM and Sundays from 11AM to 9PM
