New Lexington Couple Injured in Accident on I-70

ZANESVILLE, Ohio—The State Highway Patrol reported Thursday that a New Lexington couple is hospitalized with serious injuries following a crash on Interstate 70.

According to Sgt. Jeff Jirles with the Zanesville Post, 43-year-0ld Adam Wells was driving  eastbound on I-70 near Gratiot around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday  when his vehicle crashed into the median.

Sgt. Jirles said Wells went off the left side of the highway and struck a cable barrier,  guardrail,  and then overturned.

Authorities said Wells along with his wife, 40-year-old Tiffany Wells, were transported to Genesis Hospital  and then taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where they are both listed in serious condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
