New Street in Town Honors Ballpark Supporter

One man has donated much of his time to providing kids with opportunities to play baseball, and now the community is honoring him.

Bob Wolfe has been a staple at the Gant Park Municipal Stadium. He started his work there in 1952 and has done a little bit of everything from umpiring to organizing leagues for kids.

"I’ve been involved with a lot of things with the Old Timers and I have truthfully, honestly given my life to and for kids, and baseball, and to keep this place going," says Bob Wolfe.

To honor Bob, president of Muskingum Valley Old Timers, Pat Bollinger along with Mayor Butch Zwelling decided that they wanted to name the alleyway outside the park ‘Bob Wolfe Way,’ and tonight, they revealed that to Bob.

"It’s quite really a great honor. Something I’ll never forget," says Wolfe.

Bob’s family and friends at Muskingum Valley Old Timers were there to support him.
