New Vendor, Mayapple Farms at Muskingum County Fairground’s Farmers Market

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Fairground’s 2019 farmers market kicked off this morning.

The farmers market is a weekly event consisting of local vendors selling a wide variety of products. Mayapple Farms is a new vendor at the Fairground’s farmers market. This local business in Dresden, Ohio provides a unique variety of healthy herbs and vegetables, and even organic mushrooms, which is a new product for the farmers market.

“We’ll have new things all throughout the season. Lots of variety and unique items that you don’t see very often like the mushrooms, a lot of interest in that,” said Owner of Mayapple Farms, Rick Felumlee.

Felumlee also said this has been a hobby of theirs that grew into a business over the past few years. Their goal is to take on the business full time in the upcoming years, and they figured the farmers market was a great place to start.

“It’s a great kind of low cost way to get your products out in front of people. To be able to shake their hand, talk to them and answer questions. And I think that kind of personalization adds a lot of value and helps you build up a customer base especially when you’re first getting started,” he said.
